How do I Create a DAS Reverse Record?
Simply point any addresses to a .bit account to make your asset transfer more secure and replace the complicated address with your favorite .bit address in applications.
Let’s walk through creating a reverse record on ckbdaspost.bit. Open DAS.
Next, click Register | Manage.
Select DAS and choose the appropriate wallet in MetaMask. Next select My tab to see the .bit addresses associated. Next, select ckbdaspost.bit.
Select Reverse Record.
Click Set Now and choose the .bit address you want to bind to a specific address.
I will choose to bind ckbdaspost.bit. Click Save when done.
So now we get to lock-up more CKB which creates scarcity of CKB. The more people that do this helps to drive up the price of CKB. I love tools that lock-up CKB. Check out my post below that details this some more.
Next Sign the transaction.
Now wait for completion.
Once it's set, your Apps will display DAS account name wherever it currently displays addresses.
For example, if you have to send funds to a service or a friend and you know their address, simply enter and it will resolve to that name and you know you are sending funds to the right place (see below).
When you purchase a .bit address, you can associate the following to it:
email
Twitter
Reddit
Addresses
Custom Keys
On the reverse record, you can associate addresses with .bit addresses as shown above. And the cool thing is this will work for all blockchains eventually (see below).
This is a welcomed enhancement. It will remove the barrier of confusion in dealing with long hexadecimal addresses. Go ahead and setup your reverse DAS today. It literally took me under 3 minutes to do.
