How Do I Transfer Ownership of my Decentralized Account Systems (DAS) Account?
I am hearing a lot of chatter and confusion surrounding transferring ownership of a DAS account from one address to another. Let’s walk through this process so you know how to do it moving forward. It is very simple.
If you are not familiar with Decentralized Account Systems (DAS), please read the post below.
Let’s begin by opening a browser and connecting to the wallet address in MetaMask that holds our DAS account. In this example, I registered ToWhom.bit.
Next, browse to DAS - Cross-chain decentralized account as shown below:
Click Register | Manage and select DAS.
Select My tab and you will see your .bit address.
Select your .bit address and click Manage.
You have the ability to make someone the manager of your .bit address while still retaining ownership or you can modify the owner and send it to a new address.
Let’s Modify the Owner now by selecting Modify Owner. In this example, I am moving the ownership of ToWhom.bit to my wallet called Nervos Post.
Enter the new Ethereum Address of the wallet you want to transfer your .bit address. Click Next and select I am aware of the risks and Confirmation.
Sign the MetaMask transaction and the transfer is complete in 5 minutes.
You have now successfully transferred your .Bit address.
NOTE: There are ZERO fees to transfer ownership. Did I mention there are ZERO fees :-)
Congratulations, you have successfully transferred ownership of your .bit address. In my next post, I am going to show you how to display your NFT’s on your .bit address.
