Spotlight Series: Crypto Tax Software: CoinLedger
In the words of the immortal Benjamin Franklin, "In this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes."
Hi everyone, I will be doing a spotlight series on CoinLedger. I will go over how the software works and how you can track your crypto taxes using this software in a series of posts.
NOTE: A big thank you to the CoinLedger team for providing me access to write the series. We can all learn together.
To get a true picture of all your crypto trades, the first step is to gather all the exchanges and wallets you have used. I would setup a spreadsheet and list them out. You can use this as a guide to build your complete crypto picture.
Let’s begin by adding our First Exchange. I use Crypto.com. I will goto crypto.com on my mobile and generate a CSV file for all of my transactions. Next, I will login to CoinLedger and click Import Transactions.
Click Add | Account.
Choose from the list. In this example, I will choose Crypto.com.
Select Upload File and browse to your Crypto.com csv file or drop the file.
Once the upload is complete, you can review the import.
Note: You can review the upload and make any changes necessary or reach out to the support team if necessary.
Let’s rinse and repeat and add an Ethereum wallet for tracking.
Enter your address and allow the software to upload all your transactions.
In our next post, we can look at how to tag NFTs and Liquidity Pool transactions properly.
