Not only do I write about Crypto, but I love to Snowboard. Here are places around the world I have gone snowboarding.
With winters coming ahead after few months, many snowboard lovers, like me, will be dusting up their boards, packing up their kits and heading towards the hill stations for another great season of snowboarding. The best part of snowboarding is that it has double treats in one package that is, traveling along with the snowboarding. But many of us would be seeking for the best snow, to have an amazing and thriller season. If you are looking for the thrilling snowboarding experience this season, then do pay a visit to some of the world’s best known mountains for the best snow and best rides.
Breckenridge, Colorado
Breckenridge, Colorado (U.S.A): The history of snowboarding is often linked to this 12,840 feet high mountain with a base of 9,600 feet. Many snowboarding events have been organized here from over 20 years, as the high altitude ensures great light and super fluffy snow. There is a long snow ski season here starting from November till the end of April. This year it snowed heavily there, reporting 338 inches of snow till February 2012. The 2 half-pipes and 5 parks, which are groomed on daily bases, are just enough to keep you busy all day long.
Lake Tahoe, California
Lake Tahoe, California (U.S.A): The heavenly views of Lake Tahoe from the top of mountain and about 7 different kinds of resorts this place offers, it is just a place not to be missed by any of the snowboarder. My favorite thing about this place is that every time you visit it, you get to experience something different and new every time. Whether riding pipes and parks or in a resort, this place always has something new to give you.
Hakkaido (Japan)
Hakkaido (Japan): Though Japan’s northwestern island Hakkaido may not be on the top list for best places to snowboard for many, but for me it is not an experience to be missed. It is known as a powder heaven as the fresh snow fall is constant and makes the powder pillows and unique snow feathers, which turns this mountain into a playground for skiers.
Wanaka (New Zealand)
Wanaka (New Zealand): The snowboarding experience in Wanaka is unique because of its wide and vast open snowfields, which appear as an endless ocean of white snow. With no trees on your way, you can make your way down the mountains without following any of the established trails.
New Zealand experience is further cherish by the variety of natural beauty that this small country has packed inside it. Parks, glaciers, volcanoes, oceans, mountains and waterfalls are easy to approach and you can enjoy your stay there even more.
Port de Soleil (France)
Situated between Lake Geneva, Switzerland, and Molc Blanc, France, this place is popular for both the boarders and skiers. With 13 ski resorts and many charming and beautiful landscapes, Pol de Sloeil is also one of the attractions for snowboarders. It offers more than 650km marked runs, 230 lifts and 14 valleys are just enough to make you enjoy riding and exploring throughtout your stay there and you would not ride a same track twice.

Despite of the poor press, Aviemore is one of the best places for skiing. And not just skiing, it is the place where whole of the family can enjoy, doing wide range of outdoor activities like mountaineering, hill walking and snow and ice climbing. It is fun exploring the areas around and you can stay there even till May. The resorts offer you the skiing and snowboarding experience like never before.
Laax (Switzerland)
Laax is the most famous snowboarding destination in Switzerland. Better known as spiritual home of snowboarders, you will rarely get to see people skiing on two planks. Once you have experienced those high jumps, head towards the Crag Sogn Gion snowpark which has biggest half-pipe in the entire Europe. This park has also recently hosted several European Open championships.
Mayrhofen (Austria)
70km from Innsbruck, this village is well known by the boarders as “Big M”. It is becoming one of the hottest spot for snowboarding in Europe. There are as many as 157km of pistes yet to be explored in this valley. The world class Vans Penken Park covers an entire slope, 11 jumps, 34 boxes and boasts a half-pipe. This place will offer you something unique and special.

Many of us will never think of going to Italy to board, but Livigno is one of the best kept secrets that Italy has. It is situated in northern Italian Alps and is a free zone and quite inexpensive. It offers wide pistes for beginners and free-riders can explore some of the most beautiful powder fields and apart from this you can enjoy fine Italian cuisine there, too.
